SFD launches film series at the Berlinale! |

Premiering at the Berlinale with NEUE BILDER (New Perspectives), SFD – Schwarze Filmschaffende in Deutschland (Black Artists in German Film) is targeting both a German and an international audience of film goers and industry professionals.
The official screening of the SFD film series NEUE BILDER (New Perspectives) will take place within the Berlinale ‘Panorama’ section. To accompany NEUE BILDER, SFD has prepared a complementary programme of films, a multimedia exhibition, a series of lectures, and a discussion on the subject of "Black People in German Film" with a top-notch panel of speakers.
The SFD film series NEUE BILDER (New Perspectives) comprises a total of six films: three are fiction productions, one is an animation and two are documentaries.

Apart from that SFD has organized the complementary Programme of the same title NEUE BILDER: Besides a series of lectures visitors can expect two panel discussions on the subjects Black People in German Film/Schwarze im deutschen Film and The Power of Imagery/Macht der Bilder.
Speakers: Dr. Grada Kilomba (psychologist/author), Paulette Reed-Anderson (M.A., historian), Dr. Maisha Eggers (educationist), Dr. Peggy Piesche (historian). At 16.30h the lectures are being followed by two panel discussions moderated by TV journalist Cherno Jobatey, who will welcome amongst others: director Winta Yohannes (SFD founder member), the film historian Julien Enoka Ayemba, the producer Nataly Kudiabor (SFD founder member), the journalists Sabrina Lorenz (director of the production company Black Ocean) and John A. Kantara (filmmaker) as well as the actresses/actors Chantal de Freitas, Carol Campbell (SFD-Chairperson), Mizrajim Komi Togbonou und Tyron Ricketts. |
